The Stare
With out a doubt one of my favorite images!
This beautiful Salvin's Mollymawk was seen on a pelagic trip near Stewart Island. I love its death stare, focus and beautiful wet feathers. The bright yellow beak works well to brake the black and white of the head. I was meant to take a different lens with me on this trip, but accidentally took my long lens instead. This image was unexpected and I am so happy that I made this mistake.
Wild birds are truly amazing! I love spending time with them and nature always find a way to teach us that not everything is black and white. Sometimes we need to change our views to see a situation in color.
