Ragel's Rest

During my time in South Africa I had the privilege of getting to know a lovely young rhino called Ragel. I was allowed to be her caregiver during certain parts of the year. I got to feed her, sleep with her, walk with her and play with her. This particular image shows one of my favorite memories with her. It was a hot day and we just got back from a long walk. I laid down to take some photos of her and then she decided to lay down next to me and take a nap. She would do this many times in the future, but this image shows the first time she trusted me enough to take a nap next to me. This gorgeous little rhino will forever be in my heart.
I love spending time watching wild animals and nature always find a way to teach us that not everything is black and white. Sometimes we need to change our views to see a situation in color.
