Pure Pelagic

I'm always amazed with how many people see these massive birds fly over the ocean and think they are gulls. I guess like a lot of things in life, it pays to take a closer look before making a judgement call.
One of the purest looking birds I have come across so far. I love how smooth and clean an albatross's feathers look and this Royal Albatross is no exception. From far away they look like a large gull to the untrained eye, but as it gets closer the shear size of it makes it very clear that this is no gull. Once you get a close up, you will be blessed with an amazingly beautiful bird that keeps its feathers looking good at all times.
Wild birds are truly amazing! I love spending time with them and nature always find a way to teach us that not everything is black and white. Sometimes we need to change our views to see a situation in color.
