Hungry Mouths

Watching weavers are always interesting. Early in the breeding season females are absolutely brutal. A male can spend hours on a nest and then she destroys it in less then half an hour. Once the female accepts the nest, you get to watch the male hang upside down to feed the female. Once the eggs hatch, you get to watch the chick's mouths hanging down into the opening and both male and female hanging upside down to feed them. This beautiful female is shown feeding her chicks in Kruger National Park.
Wild birds are truly amazing! I love spending time with them and nature always find a way to teach us that not everything is black and white. Sometimes we need to change our views to see a situation in color.
