Grumpy Rhino

Grumpy Rhino

During my time in South Africa I had the privilege of meeting a lovely young rhino called Ragel. For certain times of the year I would be her care giver. I would feed her, sleep with her, walk with her and play with her. On this particular photo I was walking with her near a muddy area. She loved mud! After her mud bath she tried to have a nice scratch, but the stump was too low down. She got quite grumpy about this and started kicking up sand and running around. Anyone who says animals don't have feelings, need to spend some time raising a young animal. They absolutely have feelings and getting to know all of their unique feelings is part of the privilege of watching them grow up.

I love spending time watching wild animals and nature always find a way to teach us that not everything is black and white. Sometimes we need to change our views to see a situation in color.
