Delicate Life

I love this image. It shows a very young Scrub Hare all by itself. The image doesn't really show exactly how small it is, but this poor little one would normally still be with a parent at this age. Unfortunately, after a long wait with it, no parent showed up. We assume that the parent was caught during the night and the little one had to eventually leave the burrow to try and find its own food. I have no idea what ended up happening with it, but I am very grateful that it allowed me to get on the ground and take this amazing image.
I love spending time watching wild animals and nature always find a way to teach us that not everything is black and white. Sometimes we need to change our views to see a situation in color.
